Jillian Wong (1996), Singaporean practicing artist, currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts (Hons).

Jillian has collaborated with industries including Singapore Symphony Orchestra, OCBC Premier Private Client, and participates actively in the arts industry, helping out during Singapore Art Week 2018 at the Parkview Museum, and other galleries. She has also participated in group exhibitions held at the On-Air Gallery and the Fine Art Corridor in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and The Connoisseur Concerto Singapore.

She has been recognised for her talent and good working attitude and was awarded the ‘Tan Chay Bing Merit Award (Diploma)’ and ‘CDC/CCC Bursary (Tier 2)’ for the Academic Year 2018/2019, the ‘MOE Bursary (Tier 1)’ for the Academic Year 2017/2018, and the ‘MOE Bursary’ for the Academic Year 2016/2017.

My practice revolves heavily around my personal narratives and my faith. Being a Christian it is my belief that everything I do should be worship unto God, and how I experience everyday reveals who God is in my life. Not limited by choice of medium, but according to the experience of the work. My most recent work involves recreating my personal spaces of worship, a space to be vulnerable, a space that Is just between me and the higher power. Using the pages of the bible, I create scale models of carefully selected spaces of worship not only as my worship to God but also in hopes that others will also be able to recognise their own spaces of vulnerability.
